01-02-05 Trip from St Zenon to Lac Repos

John Wheeler, Karen and David Ride St Zenon Local trails, as of today the RVR Ski Doo Dealer is closed and the place is boarded up with no Gas for sale, Also there is no trail to the Cabanon the back way,  you must go by La Glaciere, or go down the road, There is no good  info on when or if the trail will be open.

The Trails around the area are in basically good condition and have a good hard ice base, Probably one of the best bases that I have seen in years, There are no rocks and there seems to be a fair amount of snow, The trails around town and the local loop are snirty as usual

Trail to the dam and out to Mattawin and to Repo are great, also I have been told that the trails are good all the way to ValDor beyond Repo

Traffic was light and the trails are holding together well due to the base

1-03-05 Rode to La Macaza From St Zenon, Trails good through park and St Come, Trail to La Macaza is narrow and not groomed 20 miles from Macaza, I suggest that you speak with someone coming from the other end before going to Macaza because the guy pumping fuel at the cafeteria in the park told us that the groomer went the night before but what he did not tell us was it only goes to within 20 miles and then turns around and the club responsible for the remaining 20 have not groomed for weeks

St come run is very good with a little ice in some corners that are blown out but generally very good conditions.

All said the trails Around St Zenon and surrounding areas are very rideable for this time of year and will only get better
