2-21-04 Saturday morning Karen and David left Hotel Universel in Rieiere Du Loup to head east on rt 5 on the north end of the Gaspe, Trails were soft and smooth, The Universel is a great place to start and they have secure parking.
We rode to Motel Riotel in Matane A nice place, About 175 mi. from riviere du Loup.
2-22-04 We rode to Petite Valey and stayed at Le Maison Lebreux.
Right on the water.
One of the many suspension bridges on the way.
The views are spectacular.
4000' Mountains that run all along the coast.
At the Auberge we met these 4 extremly experienced and friendly Quebecois riders, They are some of the nicest guys you could meet, We decided to ride together for the next couple of days and they showed us some of their favorite places, From left to right, Romain Marin From Quebec City, Michel Deveault from Montreal, Gerald Morin, and Sylvain Allaire both from Chicoutimi. These guys spend lots of time on the Gaspe. Mike will be writing a collumn on our page on snow and trail conditions and getting info from The others from their areas as well.
02-23-04 We all rode to Chandler through Perce and stayed at the hotel Fraser, Let me tell you they have unbeleivable seafood there, No gas at Perce you must go about 10 miles past.
The Rock.
02-24-04 We all decided to take the Piston alley 597 due to the fact that the talk is that there are 30 miles on 5 south that is dirt, They knew an unmarked trail that linked from 597 in Murdochville to Relais La Cache at 595. We said our good by's at Saint pauline and karen and I rode back to riotel 295 mi.for the day and they went in the other direction to Saint Anne Des Monts.
02-25-04 Rode back to Riviere Du Loup and loaded up Trails were being groomed and readied for the weekend.
